Ever tried explaining stress, frustration, or a complex idea, only to end up muttering:
“I’m fine.”
(Meanwhile, your eye twitches and you forget your own password…)
Not everything fits into a sentence.
Especially when words aren’t your first language—or when emotions go deeper than vocabulary.
That’s where art steps in.
Painting. Movement. Music. Poetry.
It’s not just creativity, it’s communication in a different form.
As leaders, we often focus on verbal communication. Meetings. Emails. Check-ins.
But sometimes the most powerful support we can offer, to our teams and ourselves, isn’t another conversation.
It’s space.
Space to feel. To express. To process—without needing to explain.
🎨 Because not all expression is verbal.
🎶 And sometimes, a playlist or a sketch says more than a slide deck ever could.
Let’s normalize non-verbal communication in our workplaces.
Yes, “words of affirmation” are great.
But have you tried screaming into a pillow… and then watercoloring about it?
What’s your favorite non-verbal way to process or connect?
